Piante di terra e marine, la luce, la tintura, l’atiotipia
Questa è stata una primavera inaspettata. Le piogge abbondanti hanno reso la zona dell’Arrábida un’esplosione continua di fiori e piante spontanee.
Ho lavorato con la clorofilla, estraendola da piante, fiori, alghe e foglie: è il pigmento che trasforma la luce in vita, collegando l’energia solare alla materia vivente. Ho utilizzato la clorofilla per tingere fibre vegetali, facendo emergere il profondo legame tra luce, fotosintesi e nutrimento.
Questo percorso esplora la luce come un tessuto, intessuto nelle piante e tradotto in energia disponibile grazie alla clorofilla.
Ho sperimentato anche l’atiotipia, un processo fotografico che utilizza le sostanze naturali presenti nelle foglie per creare immagini senza l’impiego di sostanze chimiche industriali. Questo processo amplifica l’idea che la luce diventi immagine attraverso la pianta stessa.
È stato un periodo di osservazione, ascolto e traduzione della luce.
Plants and Seaweeds, light, dyeing, atiotypy
This has been an unexpected spring. The abundant rains have turned the Arrábida area into a continuous explosion of wild flowers and spontaneous plants.
I worked with chlorophyll, extracting it from plants, flowers, algae, and leaves. It is the pigment that transforms light into life, connecting solar energy to living matter. I used chlorophyll to dye plant fibres, revealing the deep bond between light, photosynthesis, and nourishment.
This journey explores light as a fabric, woven within plants and translated into available energy through chlorophyll.
I also experimented with Atiotypy, a photographic process that uses the natural substances present in leaves to create images without industrial chemicals. This process amplifies the idea that light becomes an image through the plant itself.
It has been a period of observation, listening, and translation of light.
